MDDN 241: Animation no sound

MDDN 241 : Sounds

The main background song i intend to have for my animation is Lightless Dawn by Kevin Macleod (Royalty free Music). It creates an eerie, mysterious kind of feel but also makes it seem a bit more like an adventure, which is the outlying important idea behind the animation. The short character, Crank, is lonely and wants a friend, until he finds the tall character, Clinkz. Crank will follow Clinkz anywhere just so he could have a friend, even though following him may get him hurt and he gains nothing from it.

MDDN 241: Milestone

Milestone - Out of the total 26 scenes that will make up the entirety of the animation, i have fully rendered 16/26. Things are coming along great, and scenes aren't taking overly long to render the passes.

MDDN 241: Character Movement

Above is an image of the small characters chest and the compartment in his chest. Because of the lack of opposable thumbs, a little third arm stretches out of his chest compartment holding the fuel nozzle.
The above image shows the rotating charger on the tall characters arm. It begins flat, then moves up to allow space for the pin to come out. This pin connects to the crank on the back of the small character and rotates rapidly, charging up the small character.

MDDN 241: Environment

Ive put a lot of thought into the environment and how to tie it in together with the characters. I have come up with the idea of a junkyard style city that is driven by cogwork and gas. Therefore in the background of the animation i intend to have the distant silhouette of a trash cogwork city. You'll be able to see the cogs moving as they will be huge things and there will be smoke rising, giving the scene a large sense of depth. After researching into images of cogwork and junkyard cities, i found an image that i think is most accurate to what i am looking for. Further development to this style of architecture with the addition of smoke plumes and cogs rotating will make this appear to fit in with the structure of the characters.
This environment appears to be a cluttered junk yard with buildings rising up out of it, but also appear to be made from the junk bits - Cracked glass, broken concrete walls, rusted metal etc. The amount of pipes that are visible on this also make a good ground point for the placement of cogs and steam vents.
